Repair attempt:

  • Previous repairs by certified or uncertified repair shops.
  • Self-repair efforts (including DIY solutions).
  • Attempts to replace or modify components on the device.
  • Software or hardware interventions meant to address a malfunction.
  • Presence of soldering residues, soldering paste, or flux.
  • Discoloration or deformation of components caused by excessive heat during repair attempts.

* If the technician finds that the device has already had a previous repair attempt, it will take between 10 and 30 working days to diagnose the device. Express processing is NOT possible.

Why Devices with Previous Repair Attempts Take Longer to Diagnose

Devices that have undergone prior repair attempts are often more complex to assess due to several factors:

  1. More Complicated Diagnosis:
Previous repair attempts can leave behind modifications or issues that are not immediately visible. This can complicate the troubleshooting process, making it harder to pinpoint the root cause of the problem.
  2. Potential for Additional Damage:
A repair attempt may have unintentionally caused more harm to the device. For example, improper handling, soldering, or component replacements may introduce new issues or aggravate existing ones.
  3. Incorrect Component Replacement:
There’s a possibility that components have been replaced with ones of incorrect specifications or values. This can lead to performance issues or malfunctions that require extra time to identify and address.

As a result, diagnosing devices with previous repair attempts requires a more thorough and cautious approach to ensure all potential issues are uncovered and properly addressed.
